About
Tita's Pupusería Lonchera is a hidden gem located at 20645 Tracy Ave, Buttonwillow, CA 93206, that promises an authentic Salvadoran culinary experience. This charming eatery is the perfect stop for those in search of flavor-packed dishes, away from the mundane fast-food options. As a food reviewer, my taste buds were eager to explore the offerings of this delightful restaurant.
The menu at Tita's Pupusería Lonchera showcases a formidable range of options. For breakfast enthusiasts, there are mouthwatering choices such as Steak & Eggs at $14.99 and the classic Bacon & Cheese Pupusa for just $11.75. The heartiness of the 2 Eggs, Rice & Beans meal at $7.50 makes it an ideal way to kickstart your day. My personal favorite was the fluffy Pupusas, particularly the one filled with Loroco & Cheese, which delights with its distinctive flavors and satisfying texture.
As you transition from breakfast to lunch, the offerings are just as impressive. The Shrimp Burrito ($10.99) and the exotic Burrito de Lengua ($7.50) are standout items that reflect the restaurant's commitment to authentic tastes that transport you straight to El Salvador. Many customers rave about the Mixed Seafood "Campechana", priced at $16.99, which is bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors.
Customers have noted that the pupusas here are a must-try, particularly for those who are new to this staple. With feedback highlighting the deliciousness and authenticity of the food, it’s clear that Tita's Pupusería Lonchera takes pride in serving substantial, flavorful dishes. Dorsey Kindler, a returning customer, mentioned the “fantastic” experience after a long hiatus, while Calvin Sun echoed the appreciation for depth in flavor reminiscent of cherished culinary traditions.
In terms of ambiance, it’s worth noting that dining here involves a casual setting with picnic tables under pop-up covering, emphasizing the relaxed approach to enjoying good food. While some might mention a slight wait, the consensus is clear that the final experience of tantalizing flavors is well worth the time.
In summary, Tita's Pupusería Lonchera is a delightful culinary venture that authentically showcases Salvadoran cuisine. Whether you're a truck driver in need of hearty comfort food or a food lover yearning for something different, Tita’s is worth every bite. With great value-for-money and a strong sense of community, it’s no wonder that diners leave with satisfied smiles and a longing to return.
“ My husband is a truck driver, we stayed at Studio 6 (after a long day of driving), we wanted something other than fast food, so we walked over to this place. We both ordered the caldo de res (to go). This picture is one order. I wish I knew it was so big, I think we could've shared one. Anyway, it was so delicious! The meat and veggies were huge slices and so filling. Both containers were filled to the brim (before i took the picture). We ended up eating one for dinner, and we'll probably eat the other for breakfast before we get on the road again. Highly recommend. I know we will definitely be back again when we pass through Buttonwillow. Keep in mind it does take about 15-20 minutes for your order (depending on the line). We ordered then ran over to Arco while we waited, then it was ready when we got back. The only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere was because seating is outside and I was cold (personal issue, not theirs lol). ”
“ We had a great bite here eight years ago and have been meaning to get back ever since. Finally did after evacuating for the Park Fire and again it was fantastic! ”
“ Pupusa, soup was amazing! If you have not tried a pupusa before this place is a great introduction to it! FYI the soup do take a bit of time but well worth the wait! As an Asian, I appreciate the depth of flavor that’s often found in Chinese soup and I find that here as well! ”
